About
Chris Renaud is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, music director, and pit musician originally from New Hampshire.​ Renaud specializes in writing/playing dramatic works (specifically musical theater) but also enjoys writing for many different ensembles, such as smaller chamber ensembles, choirs, and orchestras.
Renaud is currently a third year undergraduate student studying Composition under Dr. Katherine Pukinskis at Carnegie Mellon University In Pittsburgh, PA (where he currently resides). He also has a minor in Drama within the School of Drama. At CMU, he has had the privilege of being apart of many different collaborations within the School of Music, School of Drama, and other student organizations/personal projects. Before working towards an undergraduate degree, Renaud took classes in Composition and Music Theory at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, New England Conservatory, and the University of Miami.

Renaud is a multi-instrumentalist and enjoys learning as much as he can about different instruments. His primary instruments are Piano, Guitar (Acoustic & Electric), and Drum Set/Percussion but is also proficient in Bass (Electric & Upright), Mandolin, Ukulele, Accordion, and Cello. Additionally, Renaud enjoys the technology side of the orchestra pit - being proficient in MainStage, Sibelius, MuseScore, Pro Tools & Logic Pro (as well as some experience in Finale, Ableton, & QLab).
